Which laser course should I take first?
- No beauty or clinical Level 3: start with a Level 3 first. Read laser training for beginners or the Level 3 Access to Aesthetics course.
- Relevant Level 3: take the VTCT Level 4 laser hair removal course.
- Level 4 laser holder: progress to the Level 5 laser tattoo removal course.
- Experienced practitioner with evidence: review the Level 4 laser RPL route or Level 5 tattoo removal RPL route.
VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Laser and IPL
Core of Knowledge for Laser and Light Devices (online) is a separate optional online course, not included in the Level 4 fee and not an entry requirement.
VTCT Level 5 Certificate in Laser Tattoo Removal
Online theory: Core of Knowledge for Laser and Light Devices
The VTCT iTEC Level 4 Award in Core of Knowledge for Laser and Light Devices is an online theory award with remote exams. It covers laser and light safety and controlled area awareness. It is separate from the Level 4 practical course, optional, and not included in that course fee.

Already qualified? RPL routes
If you already hold relevant evidence, admissions can review a Recognition of Prior Learning route toward a target VTCT laser qualification. Fees depend on the evidence review and are confirmed with admissions.
Where you train
Practical days run at our working clinic in Orpington, about 17 minutes by train from London Bridge and Victoria. Theory study and theory exams are online, so you travel in for practical training.
