You gain the VTCT Skills Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (AG40220, QAN 501/0515/2), the regulated IQA qualification. It has two units: understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment, and internally assuring the quality of assessment in your own centre or organisation.

You can carry out internal quality assurance inside a training centre: sampling assessment decisions, observing and supporting assessors, and keeping assessment fair and consistent. It is the role academies need before they run regulated courses, and it can lead to managing a quality assurance team.

Your e-learning opens as soon as you pay your deposit, and you complete your assignments online. You then attend one onsite training day at our Orpington centre, and you quality assure assessors' work through a mixed approach, recorded in your portfolio. Current dates are shown on this page.

£540 including VAT, registration and certificate fees. A £250 deposit secures your place and opens your e-learning, with the balance due 14 days before you start. Your theory is online, so you travel in for your training day at 3 Locks Court, 429 Crofton Road, Locksbottom, Orpington, Kent BR6 8NL, in the London Borough of Bromley, near London. No. The VTCT Level 3 Award in Education and Training teaches you to plan and deliver training, and our CAVA certificate qualifies you to assess learners. IQA is the next step: it qualifies you to check and support other assessors' work inside a centre. Most internal quality assurers hold an assessor qualification first.

Through a portfolio of evidence. The first unit is assessed through written work on the principles of internal quality assurance. The second is assessed on your practice, quality assuring assessors' work through a mixed approach: your quality assurance plans, sampling records and feedback to assessors, plus observation of you carrying out internal quality assurance.
