Level 3 is the entry step and needs no experience. Level 4 lets you offer skin treatments, laser and permanent makeup. Level 5 adds advanced skin treatments and laser tattoo removal. Level 6 covers mesotherapy. Level 7 is the injectables level, open to medics and to non-medics who complete Level 5 and first aid.

CPD (Continuing Professional Development) training helps you learn specific treatments and may issue certificates, but it is not the same as a regulated VTCT qualification. Regulated routes involve formal assessment, awarding-body standards and structured progression. Which is more appropriate depends on your goals, background and the treatments you want to offer.

Many learners benefit from Level 3 or equivalent foundations before Level 4, but entry requirements vary by qualification. Admissions can review your background and advise whether Level 3, RPL or another entry route may be more suitable.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where Cosmetic College reviews your existing training, qualifications and evidence to see whether any prior learning may count towards a regulated VTCT qualification. Approval is never guaranteed.

Beauty therapists and practitioners progressing into microneedling, peels, dermaplaning and advanced skin rejuvenation often explore Level 4 skin qualifications, selected CPD add-ons and Level 5 progression where suitable.

Laser and IPL learners typically explore Core of Knowledge requirements, Level 4 laser/IPL qualifications and Level 5 laser tattoo removal progression where appropriate.

Level 7 is an advanced regulated route for suitable learners interested in injectables. Entry requirements, suitability, prescription-only medicine considerations and insurance requirements must all be considered before booking.
