Our e-learning platform grants you full access to all course materials needed for your qualification, allowing you to study and complete assignments from the comfort of your home. Once your assignments are submitted, you will attend a one-day, in-person training session at the college. Please note that all assignments must be submitted at least two weeks prior to your scheduled training date.

After your training day, you finish your portfolio with your tutor's support. You are assessed through a mix of simulation and real learners.

You can work as a vocational assessor, judging learners' competence at work and their skills and knowledge in a training setting, the role training centres hire for. To plan and deliver teaching as well, take our Level 3 Award in Education and Training. To quality assure other assessors, progress to our Level 4 IQA award.

No. CAVA qualifies you to assess learners. The VTCT Level 3 Award in Education and Training teaches you to plan and deliver training, and the VTCT Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualifies you to quality assure other assessors' work inside a centre. Many trainers hold the teaching award and CAVA together, then add IQA later.

You build a portfolio of evidence. Your assessments are carried out through a mix of simulation and real learners, covering assessment at work and in a training environment, and you complete written assignments on the principles and practices of assessment on our e-learning platform. Your tutor marks your work and supports you until your portfolio is complete.
