Permanent makeup is a specialist, in-demand skill. You finish with three separate VTCT qualifications, including regulated Level 4 certificates in both micropigmentation and microblading, so you can offer brows, lips and eyeliner rather than a single treatment.

Regulated Level 4 qualifications carry more weight with salons, clinics and insurers than short CPD courses. Many permanent makeup artists also work for themselves, renting a room in an existing salon or clinic.

Yes. Most permanent makeup artists are self-employed. Treatments are booked as an initial session plus a top-up, and clients return for colour boosts, which helps you build regular income.

You will need appropriate insurance and to register your premises with your local authority for skin piercing. Our advisors can talk you through this, and our business training covers setting up and marketing your business.

Once you enrol, an advisor will help you plan your dates. You complete the Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetic Therapies first, then book micropigmentation and microblading on dates that suit you. Training takes place at our academy in Orpington, near London, in small classes with live models supplied.

No. The package starts with the VTCT (ITEC) Level 3 Certificate in Access to Aesthetic Therapies, which is designed for learners with no formal beauty therapy background. It gives you the Level 3 entry requirement for the Level 4 micropigmentation and microblading courses.

Micropigmentation uses a machine to implant pigment for brows, lips and eyeliner. Microblading is a manual, hand-tool technique that creates fine hair strokes for natural-looking brows. Qualifying in both lets you offer a full permanent makeup menu.

Yes. On successful completion you are awarded a separate VTCT qualification for each of the three courses.
