This course is the VTCT Skills Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments (AB40163). It is the Ofqual-regulated Level 4 certificate for therapists adding laser and IPL to their treatments: reducing hair growth and photo-rejuvenation of the skin.

After this certificate you can offer laser and IPL hair removal and photo-rejuvenation in a salon or clinic, and you can step up to Level 5 laser tattoo removal.

All four units are mandatory. You will consult, set parameters, treat, and give aftercare for both hair removal and skin rejuvenation, and you will be assessed in a realistic working environment.

It is not an NVQ. It is not a one-day CPD. It is not the smaller VTCT Award in laser hair reduction only, and it is not the larger Level 4 Diploma in Permanent Hair Removal and Skin Rejuvenation.

The fee is £1,500 including VAT. Core of Knowledge theory, if you do not already hold it, is a separate online VTCT course.

Hands-on laser and IPL training

During practical days you will consult, read hair and skin, identify Fitzpatrick types, plan a course of treatments, set machine parameters, patch test, carry out full treatments, and give aftercare. Training is online theory plus in-person practicals in Orpington, with live demonstrations and supervised treatments.

Beauty therapists and other practitioners with a relevant Level 3, and medics who need this regulated laser and IPL certificate.
