Microneedling and Dermaroller Training for Beginners (CPD)

This course is open to beginners and working therapists. You need all of the following:

• to be aged 18 or over
• a good command of English
• previous skin or facial training is recommended; if you are new to the industry, we suggest our facial and skincare course first

Complete your e-learning in full at least two days before your practical training.

You train in a group of 4 learners and treat model clients we supply, with one model per treatment area.

Online learning includes:

• Anatomy and physiology of the skin and tissues
• Infection control
• Sharps and hazardous waste training
• History of skin needling
• Treatable skin conditions
• Contraindications
• Consultation
• Aftercare
• Introduction to automated pen device and dermaroller
• Pre-study microneedling (health and safety)

Onsite training day includes:

• Face-to-face practical training with 1 model per treatment area
• Clinical set up
• Live treatment demonstrations

Microneedling passes a pen device or dermaroller across the skin to create fine, superficial channels that start the skin's natural repair response. The course focuses on the face, and also touches on the scalp and body. You learn safety, indications, contraindications, technique and aftercare.

We train with the Dr Pen and Beautier needling pens, a dermaroller and the Clinicare range. The skills transfer to other brands.

No. This is a CPD course, and you receive a CPD-accredited certificate. If you want a regulated qualification, our VTCT Level 4 Award in Skin Needling is compared above.

Your tutor demonstrates first, then you carry out treatments yourself on models we supply, one model per treatment area. You train in a group of 4, so your tutor can guide your consultation, technique, safety and aftercare. You are welcome to bring your own model.

Yes, if you meet the Level 4 entry requirements: a beauty-related Level 3, our VTCT Level 3 Access to Aesthetics, or a medical qualification. If you hold microneedling CPD, have 2 years' experience and can provide 10 case studies, you may be able to use our RPL route onto the regulated award instead.

No. The online microneedling course is theory only and has no practical training. This course includes the e-learning and a supervised practical session on models at our Orpington clinic.

Yes. We supply models for your practical training, so you treat real clients under the supervision of your tutor. You are also welcome to bring your own model. You treat one model per treatment area. You train in a group of 4 learners, so your tutor can guide every step, from consultation and assessment to technique, safety and aftercare.

The price shown on this page is all-inclusive, with VAT and certificate fees included, so there is nothing extra to pay. A £250 deposit secures your place, with the balance due 14 days before you start. You can also pay in full, pay with Klarna (interest free) or apply for Snap Finance (subject to status). Combine courses totalling £3,000 or more to spread the cost.

You train at our clinic at 3 Locks Court, 429 Crofton Road, Locksbottom, Orpington, Kent BR6 8NL, in the London Borough of Bromley. It is about 17 minutes by train from London Bridge and Victoria. Your theory is online, so you only travel in for your practical training.
