Phlebotomy Training Course in London

This course is suitable for medics and non-medics, including complete beginners. You need all of the following:

• to be aged 18 or over;
• a good command of English;
• to be able to learn independently.

You start with our e-learning, completed at least two days before your half-day practical session at our clinic. Your session time is shown on the date cards. You train in a group of 4 learners.

• Informed consent
• Anatomy and physiology of the arm
• Site selection: good and bad veins
• Complications that can arise when taking blood
• Needlestick injuries: what they are and what to do
• How and where to correctly apply a tourniquet
• What is expected of a phlebotomist
• The importance of correct patient identification and informed consent

This course teaches the theory and practical skills of venepuncture. You study the theory online, then practise taking blood under your tutor's supervision.

You learn the background to phlebotomy, health and safety, infection control, informed consent and patient identification, the anatomy of the arm, site selection, how to apply a tourniquet, complications that can arise when taking blood, and what to do after a needlestick injury.

You start with our e-learning, which you complete at least two days before your practical training. You then attend a half-day practical session at our Orpington clinic, where you watch your tutor demonstrate first and then carry out treatments yourself. Session times are shown on the date cards on this page.

Yes. We supply models for your practical training, so you practise taking blood under the supervision of your tutor. You train in a group of 4 learners, so your tutor can guide every step, from consent and site selection to technique, safety and aftercare.

Yes. When you complete the e-learning and your practical training, you receive a CPD-accredited certificate in phlebotomy. It shows the training you have completed. Phlebotomy is the first step towards our PRP training. Students get 10% off future training with us.

The price shown on this page is all-inclusive, with VAT and certificate fees included, so there is nothing extra to pay. A £250 deposit secures your place, with the balance due 14 days before you start. You can also pay in full, pay with Klarna (interest free) or apply for Snap Finance (subject to status). Combine courses totalling £3,000 or more to spread the cost.

You train at our clinic at 3 Locks Court, 429 Crofton Road, Locksbottom, Orpington, Kent BR6 8NL, in the London Borough of Bromley. It is about 17 minutes by train from London Bridge and Victoria. Your theory is online, so you only travel in for your practical training.
