Ear Piercing Training Course in London

This course is open to beginners and existing beauty or aesthetics professionals. You need all of the following:

• to be aged 18 or over
• good spoken and written English
• to be able to follow health, safety and hygiene procedures
• to be comfortable working closely with clients
• to complete the pre-study before your practical training

Previous beauty therapy experience is helpful but not essential.

You start with our e-learning, completed at least two days before your practical day, which covers consultation, set-up, hygiene, placement, technique, client care and aftercare. Your session time is shown on the date cards. You train in a group of 4 learners. Learners practise on live models and practice aids, depending on availability, and can bring their own model.

Ear piercing sits well alongside salon, clinic, beauty and aesthetics services. You learn to carry out treatments with a strong focus on hygiene, client safety, accurate placement and aftercare, subject to insurance and local authority requirements.

This is a CPD course. Many learners add other beauty treatments next, and Pathway to Aesthetics shows the routes into regulated beauty and aesthetics qualifications.

You learn ear anatomy, health, safety and hygiene, infection prevention, consultation and consent, including responsible consent when treating minors, contraindications, skin preparation, ear marking and symmetry, jewellery selection, piercing technique, aftercare and healing guidance, recognising complications, record keeping, insurance and local authority registration.

After your training, you need appropriate insurance and must meet your local authority requirements before offering ear piercing commercially. Requirements vary by council and premises, so we cover registration and professional responsibilities on the course and recommend you check with your council before you start.

You start with our e-learning, which you complete at least two days before your practical training. You then attend a practical day at our Orpington clinic, where you watch your tutor demonstrate first and then carry out treatments yourself. Session times are shown on the date cards on this page.

Learners practise on live models and practice aids, depending on availability, and can bring their own model. You train in a group of 4 learners, so your tutor can guide every step, from consultation and consent to marking, technique, hygiene and aftercare.

Yes. When you complete the e-learning and your practical training, you receive a CPD-accredited certificate in ear piercing. It shows the training you have completed. Before you offer the treatment, check your insurer's requirements. Students get 10% off future training with us.

The price shown on this page is all-inclusive, with VAT and certificate fees included, so there is nothing extra to pay.
