Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

• Conduct thorough consultations and skin assessments
• Identify suitable clients using Fitzpatrick skin typing
• Recognise contraindications and contra-actions
• Safely set up and operate a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser
• Apply carbon lotion correctly and safely
• Deliver a full Carbon Laser Facial treatment
• Provide appropriate aftercare advice and manage expectations
• Maintain laser safety protocols

Assessment

Assessment is continuous and practical, including:

• Tutor observation of technique and safety
• Assessment of consultation and skin assessment
• Correct laser parameter selection
• Safe use of equipment and PPE
• Theory Q&A participation

There is no written exam.

When you complete the course, you receive a CPD-accredited certificate in carbon laser facial. Check your insurer's requirements before you treat clients.

Some UK local authorities require a Special Treatment Licence to perform laser treatments. It is the learner's responsibility to check local council requirements before offering treatments to the public.

You learn how carbon laser facials work, consultation and skin assessment, Fitzpatrick skin typing, contraindications and contra-actions, how to set up and operate a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser, carbon application, a full treatment from start to finish, laser safety protocols and PPE, and aftercare advice for your clients.

Assessment is continuous and practical. Your tutor observes your technique and safety, your consultation and skin assessment, your laser parameter selection and your use of equipment and PPE, with questions on the theory as you go. There is no written exam. When you complete the course, you receive your CPD-accredited certificate.

Some UK local authorities require a special treatment licence for laser treatments. It is your responsibility to check your local council requirements, and your insurer's requirements, before offering treatments to the public. Our admissions team can talk this through with you before you enrol.

Yes. We supply models for your practical training, so you treat real clients under the supervision of your tutor. You train in a group of 4 learners, so your tutor can guide every step, from consultation and assessment to technique, safety and aftercare.

The price shown on this page is all-inclusive, with VAT and certificate fees included, so there is nothing extra to pay. A £250 deposit secures your place, with the balance due 14 days before you start. You can also pay in full, pay with Klarna (interest free) or apply for Snap Finance (subject to status). Combine courses totalling £3,000 or more to spread the cost.

You train at our clinic at 3 Locks Court, 429 Crofton Road, Locksbottom, Orpington, Kent BR6 8NL, in the London Borough of Bromley. It is about 17 minutes by train from London Bridge and Victoria. Your theory is online, so you only travel in for your practical day.
