The role

We're looking for a knowledgeable tutor and assessor to support learners studying at Level 7. You'll help students connect advanced theory with practical judgement, develop their skills and demonstrate the evidence needed for assessment.

You must hold a regulated Level 7 qualification. Please include the full qualification title and awarding organisation in your application, together with your relevant teaching, assessing and practical experience. You'll work with our teaching and quality assurance colleagues at the Orpington college.

Essential: must hold a regulated Level 7 qualification

What you'll do

  • Plan and deliver engaging Level 7 theory lessons, practical demonstrations and supervised learning sessions within your area of competence.
  • Guide learners in applying their knowledge to consultation, treatment planning, safe practice, professional judgement and appropriate aftercare.
  • Assess practical competence, written work and portfolio evidence against the relevant qualification requirements, recording clear and fair assessment decisions.
  • Give constructive feedback and agree specific next steps that help learners address gaps in knowledge, technique or assessment evidence.
  • Maintain accurate learner progress and assessment records, and work with internal quality assurance colleagues to support consistent standards.
  • Contribute to lesson resources, assessment planning and standardisation discussions with the teaching team.
  • Keep your subject knowledge, practical skills and teaching practice current through ongoing professional development.

What you'll bring

  • A regulated Level 7 qualification. This is essential; include the qualification title and awarding organisation in your application.
  • Relevant teaching and assessing qualifications, with the ability to plan learning and make clear, evidence-based assessment decisions.
  • Practical expertise and occupational competence in the subject areas and procedures you would teach and assess.
  • The ability to explain advanced concepts clearly, support reflective learning and give specific, constructive feedback.
  • Strong organisation, accurate record keeping and a consistent commitment to professional standards and learner support.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to deliver teaching and assessment on site at our Orpington college.

It would also be helpful to have

  • Experience delivering or assessing regulated Level 7 aesthetics qualifications.
  • Experience supporting internal quality assurance, standardisation or the development of advanced learning resources.
